Alberta’s Minister of Education and Childcare, Demetrios Nicolaides, has shared a back-to-school message for families.
The letter includes information about provincial investments in classroom staffing and supports, new school spaces, and literacy and numeracy screening. It also includes an invitation to a province-wide telephone town hall about education in Alberta.

Join Alberta's Back-to-School Telephone Town Hall
Alberta's Minister of Education and Childcare, Demetrios Nicolaides, is inviting families to participate in a province-wide telephone town hall on September 23, 2026, from 6 to 7 PM.
The town hall will provide an opportunity for participants to ask questions about education in Alberta and learn more about provincial education initiatives for the 2026-27 school year.
